The Islamic Shura Council of Southern California proudly endorses the Resilience and Protection Waqf Fund , a historic initiative of the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) to protect our Masajid, Islamic institutions, and Muslim communities through a permanent, Shariah-compliant endowment, says a Shura Council message. Why This Fund Is Needed
The terrorist attack on the Islamic Center of San Diego on May 18 was another painful reminder that anti-Muslim hatred remains a serious threat. In 2025, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) documented 8,658 anti-Muslim discrimination and civil rights complaints, the highest number ever recorded. FBI hate crime statistics also continue to report hundreds of anti-Muslim hate crime incidents each year, including assaults, intimidation, and attacks on religious institutions.
