Multi-Faith Prayer Space at John Wayne Airport
In a landmark development for inclusivity and spiritual unity, John Wayne Airport (SNA) is proud to announce the official opening of its first Multi-Faith Prayer Room. Located in Terminal C (Southwest Airlines), near Gate 22, this serene space offers travelers of all backgrounds a quiet refuge for reflection, prayer, and peace.
While a diverse, multi-faith team led this transformative project, several individuals in the Muslim community played a key role in launching this initiative, including Salam Ali of the Islamic Education Center of Orange County , whose tireless efforts previously brought about the allocation of a similar space at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX); Aslam Dada, Islamic Center of Yorba Linda ; and Mehdi Reza Hirji of Shia Muslim Council .
The project received overwhelming support from the community, with 118 multi-faith clerics across Orange County endorsing the initiative. Their collective voice underscored the importance of creating a space that welcomes all faiths and philosophies, especially in a region as richly diverse as Southern California.
