APPNA and American Psychiatric Foundation Sign Letter of Intent to Promote Wellness in the Pakistani Community

The American Pakistani Physicians of North America (APPNA) and the American Psychiatric Foundation are proud to announce their partnership aimed at promoting wellness and mental health awareness within the Pakistani community. The signing of the Letter of Intent (LOI) signifies the commitment of both organizations to work together in creating initiatives that will enhance mental health resources, provide education, and foster a supportive environment for those in need.

The partnership seeks to raise awareness about mental health issues, reduce stigma, and empower individuals to seek help.

“The APA Foundation is excited to partner with APPNA in advancing a vital message: mental health care works. Together, we have the opportunity to bring this message into the communities where we live, learn, work, worship, and play—ensuring that mental health is not only prioritized, but normalized,” said Rawle Andrews Jr, Esq, Executive Director of the American Psychiatric Association Foundation.

APPNA’s President, Dr Humera Qamar, also shares this vision, emphasizing the importance of culturally competent mental health care. She stated, “We are excited to join forces with the American Psychiatric Association Foundation to promote mental health awareness and provide support tailored to the unique needs of the Pakistani community. By working together, APPNA and the American Psychiatric Foundation aim to create a lasting impact and improve overall mental health outcomes.”
