Los Angeles : Over five thousand people of all faiths and traditions joined hands in condemning the ongoing occupation of Iraq on Saturday, March 21 in Los Angeles. They included the Executive Director of the Islamic Shura Council, Mr Shakeel Syed.

Referring to the escalation of war in Afghanistan, Mr. Syed called on President Obama “to change US policies in substance rather than mere rhetoric.”

“The American people are tired of deathly political games by the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan and its tacit approval of Israeli occupation of Palestine and Indian occupation of Kashmir,” said Shakeel Syed.

Joining several social justice advocates from National Lawyers Guild, School of Americas and others, he also called on the Obama administration to investigate the Bush administration for war crimes during the last eight years.
